Three employees working in different areas of the Boeing Fabrication facility in Auburn, Wash., noticed separate situations that could use process improvements. Thanks to a cross-functional team in Auburn, they had a forum where they could raise these issues, trade ideas and put their heads together to develop solutions.
Boeing engineer Vicki Curtis is driven by the quest to make the flying experience more accommodating for everyone, including those who have disabilities. Her goal is not to fix what now exists, but to find a breakthrough that can be designed into tomorrow’s airplanes.
