The Laser and Electro-Optical Systems Modeling and Simulation Team

We support Boeing's military laser business, and our job is to develop real-time simulation modeling tools that will play in today's virtual war games. Tactical high-energy laser weapon systems have been developed almost to the point where they could become operational. However, there are questions about their deployment, logistics support and other issues that must first be addressed. To answer the call, our team was formed by Boeing Laser and Electro-Optical Systems in West Hills, Calif. Our mission is to explore tactical mission applications directly supporting the Boeing HEL weapon business areas and to provide the warfighter community and government decision maker with a broader understanding and awareness of our virtual-war-game capabilities. This effort is paying dividends. We have twice demonstrated our capabilities at major government-sponsored events, establishing Boeing and our team as industry pioneers in this field. We are committed to making a contribution to the U.S. weapons arsenal of the 21st century. And we are proud to be involved in something so important for the future of the U.S. military and Boeing.
