Inside Boeing gets 10th anniversary makeover

Site evolving into employee portal

the new look of Inside BoeingUsers of inside.boeing.com, the default home page on the Boeing intranet, this month will experience a brand new look and feel to this site. Celebrating its 10-year anniversary, the Inside Boeing Web site is evolving toward the next phase of Web technology: the employee portal.

Although its functionality remains the same, Inside Boeing will mirror the look of the MyBoeing employee portal, which presents information in a way that users can personalize. Employees will be able to log on to the portal directly from Inside Boeing. By clicking the "Logon" button at the top of the page and going through Web Single Sign On, employees can easily reach the portal to access personalized information and TotalAccess services.

The Inside Boeing makeover brings Boeing one step closer to a single enterprisewide look and feel. It also introduces (or reintroduces) Inside Boeing users to the experience of using a portal. Inside Boeing has long been a starting point to the Boeing Web, but it's a one-size-fits-all approach. Portal users, on the other hand, get focused information that they can personalize. By linking with various Boeing databases, a portal identifies users when they log on and automatically provides them access and information targeted to their unique roles and requirements.

TotalAccess services slated to be accessible from home

Early next year, Boeing is scheduled to launch a version of the TotalAccess human resources information and services Web page that can be accessed outside the Boeing Web.

MyBoeing Express is slated for launch in January, members of the TotalAccess team said. Through MyBoeing Express, active U.S.-based Boeing employees will be able to reach to their personalized HR- and payroll-related information and services from the Internet using their TotalAccess password. With the launch of MyBoeing Express, employees will have secure use of their personalized information-via Web or phone-anytime and anywhere.

Additional details will be announced as they become available.
