Boeing welcomes home USS Lincoln
The aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln arrived May 5 in Everett, Wash., after a 10-month deployment in the Middle East. Thousands of people were on hand to welcome the ship and its crew in a homecoming celebration organized by the City of Everett, the Naval Station there and local community and government groups. Boeing was one of several local companies that sponsored the event. Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Alan Mulally was aboard the aircraft carrier as it docked. "It was a tremendous experience and an honor to be there to represent Boeing in support of the men and women of the USS Lincoln," Mulally said. "They made history with one of the longest carrier deployments in three decades, a mission that included the first deployment of our own F/A-18E/F Super Hornets. Their lengthy mission was a success, and we are so grateful and proud of their service."
